What data Karteez processes, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights.

01Who is responsible

02Data Karteez processes on its own behalf
Access requests sent from the website: name, business name, phone, city, business type, desired plan and message. They are used only to contact you and open your space.
Accounts of merchants and their teams: name, email address, password (encrypted, never readable by Karteez), role, action log. They are used to provide the service, secure it and offer support.
Technical data: sign-in and error logs, needed for security and proper operation. The site only uses cookies essential for signing in, with no advertising or tracking.
03Data of merchants’ customers
Information about a store’s customers (name, phone, address, orders) belongs to the merchant, who is responsible for it. Karteez hosts and processes it solely on the merchant’s behalf, as a processor, without using or selling it.
04Retention period
Access requests that go nowhere are deleted no later than 12 months after the last contact. Accounts are kept for the duration of the contract; a sign-up never paid is erased after 6 months, a suspended store is closed after 12 months (with a warning 30 days before). Invoices and accounting records are kept for the legal period (10 years).
05Recipients and hosting
Only authorized Karteez staff access this data, and only for the stated purposes. It is hosted by Karteez’s infrastructure providers (database, image storage, server), whose list is available on request. It is never sold.
06Your rights
In accordance with Law No. 2008-12 on the protection of personal data, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to [contact@karteez.sn]. You may also contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (CDP) of Senegal.
